I am 47 and used to be very much in control of any situation. It is about a year that my mood swings and getting upset over nothing has gone up. I like to control my moods like before or not have it at all.

Mood swings

The moodiness and emotional unbalance at this age is caused by a decline in your level of estrogen hormone. There are things you can do to get the frustration out and your life in control again.

- This is normal and you are not alone.

- By realizing that you are facing a new cycle in your life, then you can see the phase when it's coming to you.

- You need to have a group of women friends to share your feelings.

- Keep a log, noting the date, time, and intensity of your emotional distress. This way you know the time and you would give yourself a break by managing easy schedule or more tolerable ones for you to handle the situations and stay in control.

- Don't forget to take a deep breath when you feel that your moods are on the edge.

- Keeping a regular schedule on eating, sleeping, exercising will consequently help to make your body's rhythms as predictable as possible.

- Regular exercise, and walking shows tremendous help against blues.

- Concentrate on your purpose and get busy with the passion in your life.

- Don't forget to take your multiple vitamins, vitamin E, plus an extra vitamin C daily.
