As Lee Iacocca says, "when I do go, I guess my only legacy as I turn off the lights and leave is to pin up on the wall my commandments of management - my distillation of 44 years in the business world. Below are his "Seven Commandments":

1. Hire the best - smart, dedicated people.

2. Get your priorities straight and keep a hot list of what you're trying to do.

3. Say it in English and keep it short - no bureaucratic double-talk.

4. Never forget it is the line organization - not the staff - that makes the money.

5. Delegate but set limits on the size of their playing field.

6. Keep some mavericks around who disagree.

7. Remember the fundamentals.
